DRONEDRUM, MIX SERIES

Dronedrum came into existence at the very beginnning of the Covid-19 lockdown. It is a bedroom mix series, mixed by me and DJ friends every once in a while. It served as an alternative for not being able to go clubbing for (what we then believed would be) a couple of months. There is a tally system in the artworks, adding a cross to the artwork every new mix. The mix served as a creative outlet visually as well as through sound.

Fast forward to a year without clubbing, and experiencing the effects of the pandemic. This is when the idea for a Smartphone Rave originated. I made a 9:16 one hour VJ Set and uploaded it to YouTube. When you are at home and want to rave it out, everyone could just turn on the video on their smartphone, place it somewhere nice, and turn up the music!
